“All my life, l've had this dream of sharing my journey with all of you. My childhood was not a simple one and at times chaotic. The story of the pink ball is the story of how friendships are made, and are kept for a lifetime. My best best friend, Garry Marshall, and I began having a catch with this ball when we were about 10 years old. At that time, a very deep bond of friendship began. Garry was a sickly young man and many times l visited him while he was in bed and we had a catch and that catch always brought a smile on both of our faces. This continued on for the rest of our lives. Sadly, Garry is no longer with us, however, he is still my best best friend.  I envision a world where every child, regardless of their circumstances, can experience hope, happiness, and the transformative power of a smile. The pink ball has the spiritual power to create a future where children feel a sense of hope, a sense of community, allowing them to have an optimistic view of the world.”
